For the past 17 years, The Sangha has introduced an innovative concept called Dainik Sewa Donation and allows everyone to be a part of a contribution that goes directly into covering the operational expenses of the temple and the daily puja of Lord Jagannath. All Dainik Sewa donors contribute Rs. 5/- per day (Rs. 150/- per month) for this cause.
By the grace of Lord Jagannath this small donation sewa, unitedly forms the largest sewa and meets all day-to-day operational expenses. Interestingly, we have observed that as the operational expenses increased year-on-year, so did the number of Dainik Sewa Donors and there was never a deficit.
A puja is conducted each month, in the name of all the Dainik Sewa Donors, by the priests, on a pre-specified date, as per the preference of the devotees. The member is notified, a day, prior to their puja day, each month. Additionally, the member is entitled to a complimentary Prasad, that can be booked, on the same day. If a member requires additional Prasad, the same can also be booked at the Mandir.
We urge all the devotees of Lord Jagannath to become DSM members. Existing members are also requested to bring more and more devotees under this umbrella including their friends & relatives to take benefits of such wonderful sewa. As this is a donation sewa for the Mandir and not the membership of the Society, even a child can become a donor member.
In order to address requests received from multiple followers, an alternative has been implemented, allowing for a one-time contribution of Rs. 15,000/- instead of a monthly payment for the lifelong Dainik Sewa Donation.
