Nestling on the eastern coast, overlooking the azure waters of the Bay of Bengal, the exceptional State of Odisha presents to its visitors the significant Hindu pilgrimage site of Puri. In the hearts and minds of countless Indians, Odisha is synonymous with Jagannath, the revered deity. The temple dedicated to Lord Jagannath, known as the 'Lord of the Universe', in Puri holds immense sanctity as one of India's holiest pilgrimage destinations. It is considered one of the four divine abodes (Dhamas) that are situated in the four cardinal directions.
Over the course of several years, countless devotees have dedicated themselves to spreading the rich culture of the beloved Lord JAGANNATH across the globe. Even the Indian capital has not lagged behind, boasting numerous temples where Lord Jagannath is revered and worshipped.
ROHINI, the name itself holds a remarkable connection with Jagannath culture and is famously recognized as the mother's name of Lord Balabhadra (the elder brother of Lord Jagannath).
Shri Jagannath Rohini Sewa Sangha was officially established with a determined vision to progress towards the creation of a magnificent temple in the heart of Northwest Delhi, specifically in Rohini. This noble endeavor has been undertaken with the blessings and guidance of Gajapati Maharaja Divyasingh Dev and Rajguru. The auspicious Bhoomi Poojan ceremony for the temple's construction took place in November 2011. Additionally, the installation of the sacred 'Ratna Mooda' and the consecration of the main Gumbad of the temple occurred in April 2015 and November 2016 respectively.
Under the divine blessings of Lord Jagannath, HIS desires are being fulfilled. A magnificent temple, built with exquisite Odishi architecture and adorned with beautiful textures and designs, has been constructed. The consecration ceremony, known as Mandir Pratishtha, took place from the 20th to the 24th of February, 2023. This sacred ritual was conducted by approximately 25 priests from Odisha, following Vedic traditions. The puja and yagna were performed in a specially constructed yagna mandap, with the chanting of mantras and the offering of yagna for five consecutive days. To ensure the continuous flow of devotion, Akhanda Naam Sankirtan and Bhandara were organized round the clock throughout this auspicious period. Mr. Anil Gupta, CMD of KEI Industries Ltd., along with his spouse Mrs. Archana Gupta, had the honor of being the main karta of the Pratishtha Function, representing the entire society. Thousands of devotees from Delhi NCR and various parts of the country were blessed to witness this extraordinary and unforgettable event.
The temple is witnessing a daily influx of visitors from all parts of Delhi NCR, especially on weekends. People come to the temple for Darshan (worship), Puja (rituals), and to admire the beautiful architecture and design. Many new visitors also come to catch a glimpse of the stunning works of art and to seek the blessings of Lord Jagannath. The main temple houses Lord Jagannath, who is seated gracefully on the Ratna Sinhasan, along with his brother Balabhadra and sister Subhadra Devi. Furthermore, the temple complex also includes temples dedicated to Bimla Mata, Laksmi Mata, Kashi Vishwanath, Ram Darbar, Surya Dev, Hanuman ji, Ganesh ji, Bhubaneshwari Mata and Samleshwari Mata.
Throughout the year, the Mandir hosts a variety of Hindu Festivals, such as Lord Jagannath Rath Yatra, Bahuda Yatra, Jhulan Yatra, Janmastami, Ganesh Puja, Kartika Purnima, Odhon Sasthi, Makar Sankranti, Maha Shiv Ratri, Basant Panchami, Holi, Akshya Tritiya, Pana Sankranti, Dev Snana Purnima, Nav Jouban, and many more. These festivals are celebrated with fervor and include Bhajan, Kirtan, Odishi dance, and cultural programs, followed by Bhandara.
Various religious and cultural events are regularly organized, such as Shrimad Bhagwat Katha, Nam Yagna or Nam Kirtan, Sunderkand Path, Kirtan & Bhajan, Odishi dance, and other religious programs.
